The Buckley School teaches more than public speaking. It reveals to professionals their potential to win audiences, write with elan, and otherwise organize their thoughts. In a mere 2 1/2 days, even the most fearful and flummoxed find that they are expressing themselves with clarity, wit, confidence. How can this be?
As seen in United Airlines Hemispheres magazine, Founder Reid Buckley has drawn from his years in the trenches as a professional speaker, writer, and debater. At his school in Camden, South Carolina, he has created a program that teaches more than the mechanics of oratory. Students are urged to exploit their unique abilities; they are encouraged to display their personal style and humor. They leave the Buckley School armed with the ability to win an auditorium of unfriendly faces or to face down Mike Wallace.
Since its launch in 1988, the Buckley School has provided speaking and writing instruction, private coaching and media training for nearly 2000 first rank executives and political leaders.
David Melling is pleased, and honored, to offer the Executive Seminar in Public Speaking to students at the West Campus of the Buckley School of Communications.
